Forms on this website
The contact and newsletter forms are not yet connected to a delivery service. Until they are, information entered into them is not submitted or saved by this website, and submitting a form shows a notice rather than sending a message or creating a subscription. The rest of this notice describes how information will be handled once they are connected.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address and message.
- Newsletter: your email address and the date you subscribed.
- Technical information: when you visit, our hosting provider records technical logs, including IP addresses, browser details and requested pages, to serve and secure the website.
- Visit statistics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify you. It records the page viewed, the website that sent you, your country and your type of device, and we only see totals.
Please don’t include sensitive information, such as health details, in a message.
Why we use it
- To reply to your message. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: responding to people who contact us.
- To send the newsletter. Our lawful basis is your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
- To run and secure the website. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: keeping the website available and protected from misuse.
- To understand how the website is used. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: knowing which pages are read and where visitors come from, so we can improve the website.
We don’t sell your information, use it for advertising or make automated decisions about you.
Who we share it with
We use service providers who process information on our behalf and only on our instructions:
- our hosting provider, Vercel Inc.
- our email newsletter provider
- our contact form provider
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of our providers, including Vercel, are based in the United States or process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Messages: up to 24 months after our last contact, unless they lead to an ongoing business relationship.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. We then delete your address within 30 days, except for a minimal record that stops you being added again by mistake.
- Technical logs: kept by our hosting provider for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
This website doesn’t set cookies or use advertising trackers. Visit statistics are collected without cookies, as described above. Fonts and images are served from this website rather than from third parties. If that changes, we’ll update this notice and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Unsubscribing
Every newsletter email includes a link to unsubscribe. You can also ask us to remove you using the contact details above.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask for it in a portable format. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Making a request is free, and we’ll respond within one month.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint (opens in a new tab) or on 0303 123 1113.
